Here are some pictures from the last part of our vacation. I took Tom to see Piers Gorge. It was so pretty!
We got to see a bunch of people go by on rafts. We didn't even know there was white water rafting here. Go figure. We made reservations to do this next weekend in Pennsylvania and here we could have done it right at home in the UP!
We left for downstate Wednesday morning and got a hotel in Mackinac City Wednesday afternoon. We had dinner with a teacher friend of mine at her cottage on the beach. That was great! Then Thursday morning we took our bikes over to Mackinac Island on the ferry. We biked around the island - an almost 8 mile stretch. It was so pretty!
We checked out a few of the shops in town (and ran into Dennis Sliva at Monkey Business!), got some fudge, and headed back over on the ferry.
We got back to Ferndale last night around 7:30. We picked up some pizza and had dinner while unpacking everything before we went to bed. Overall it was a great trip. :)
All of those pictures just look like a dream - Mary Ellen definitely wants to go to Mac Island after seeing those. And I can't believe you ran into Dennis Sliva! Thats crazy. Thanks for posting, love the pics!
